What happens when you give 3rd graders fitness trackers and a challenge?
They MOVE More and Learn How to SET GOALS.
Fly Movement is the first kids’ health program that provides children an opportunity to reach a fitness goal through fun, rewarding team competition using fitness trackers. As a result, children enhance their self-esteem, their fitness activity increases, they learn about the many benefits of physical activity.

About Fly Movement
Fly Movement is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles among Houston’s youth. We work continuously to increase health literacy and physical activity for kids and families through education, advocacy, and a variety of programs including Houston’s only free kids fun run. Our vision is to be the premier kids health program in Houston and to eradicate child obesity. See how Fly Movement works.
Why We Do It
More than 1 in 3 kids are overweight or obese – a figure that only worsens in low-income, minority populations. In addition, 92% of Texas Elementary schools lack a daily physical education program and 73% of school-aged children in Houston are considered economically disadvantaged. In other words, many parents in our community cannot afford to enroll their children in afterschool sports programs. Healthy lifestyle habits start (and stick) early. That’s where we – and our amazing volunteers – come in. Our dynamic program brings health and fitness into the homes and minds of our community’s children and their families.

How We Do It
3rd and 4th grade students have an opportunity to reach a fitness goal through fun, rewarding team competition using fitness trackers and fun runs along with in class lesson and parent education material to get the whole family involved.
